Integration of maintenance scheduling and planning for large-scale asset fleets

Abstract Large fleets of engineering assets that are subject to ongoing degradation posing the challenge how and when perform maintenance. For a given case study, this paper proposes formulation for combined scheduling planning maintenance actions. A hierarchical approach two-stage (with either uniform or non-uniform time grid) considered compared each other. The resulting discrete-time linear programming model follows Resource Task Network framework. Asset deterioration is linearly tackled with an enumerator-based formulation. Advantages its computational efficiency, scalability, extendability adaptability. results indicate can be solved in appropriate accuracy. decision-support delivered helps choice specific action conduct it. makes benefits optimally combining long-term short-term industrial-sized problems into one system.
